Austin-based singer Patrick Boothe previewed his new release from Good Morning/Good Evening pt. 2 which is slated for an early 2014 release, with “Isolation.”

In the track, Boothe doesn’t mince words when he sings I prefer the isolation / so leave me the fuck alone. While the lyrics are fairly straightforward, it’s interesting Boothe craves such isolation when he recently and proudly mentioned his new found relationship on Facebook. So, we asked him.

“‘Isolation’ was written in 2006/2007, before I moved from Dallas to Austin, and definitely before I started a relationship with my dream man. There are other songs on the upcoming ep that were written around that period as well, and the next batch of songs I want to record further down the road include more songs written around that time as well. I still have a lot of catching up to do before anyone will be able to hear my more current compositions, including reflections of my current blissful state,” he says.

There always is a certain rawness to Boothe’s work that goes just beyond an indie flavor. He pounds at his music but then glides over the tunes with his crystal clear voice. This balance reveals levels of both complexity and pure heart.

Listen to “Isolation” after the jump.
